Prof. Rudolf Großmann, Graphikkonvolut four works, each with figurative depictions, etchings (one sheet coloured), c. 1920, each signed "Großmann" in lead, varying condition, some more heavily browned, one sheet framed behind glass, maximum dimensions c. 32.5 x 18 cm. Artist information: actually Rudolf Wilhelm Walther Großmann, also Grossmann, German painter and graphic artist. Painter and graphic artist (1882 Freiburg im Breisgau - 1941 Freiburg im Breisgau), grandson of the Baden court painter Wilhelm Dürr, 1902-1904 studied philosophy and medicine in Munich, 1904-09 in Paris where he was a pupil of Lucien Simon, travelled to Belgium and Holland, from 1910 resident in Berlin where he became friends with Hans Purrmann, 1928 appointed professor at the Kunsthochschule Berlin, after the National Socialists seized power in 1934 dismissed from his professorship, moved to Freiburg im Breisgau and ostracised as degenerate, 206 of his works were confiscated, member of the Berlin Secession and the Deutscher Künstlerbund, source: Thieme-Becker, Dressler, Wikipedia and Internet.

Manfred A. Schmid, Zwei Frauen im Gespräch Mixed media monogrammed AS lower right, dated (19)53, framed under glass in passepartout, folded dimensions 56 x 40 cm. Artist information: German painter and restorer (1911 Freiburg im Breisgau - 2009 ibid.) completed an apprenticeship as a decorative painter, 1929 studied painting at the Badische Landeskunstschule in Karlsruhe under Georg Scholz, also attended the etching class under Walter Conz, 1932/33 master student with his own studio under Hermann Goebel, however he cancelled his master student status for political reasons, then at the Munich Art Academy under Julius Hess, acquired his master's certificate in 1940, immediately before his military service, he processed what he had experienced during the war in many sketches and then worked as a freelancer in Freiburg-Zähringen, 1960/69 chairman of the South Baden Association of Fine Arts, alternating with sculptor Walter Schelenz, worked until 2001.
