Portraits. Collection of over 500 photographs, mostly portraits taken in the studio, some mounted. Ca. 1865-1925, mostly before 1900, mostly in carte-de-visite format (ca. 350 pieces, ca. 10.5:6.5 cm) or carte-cabinet format (ca. 65 pieces, ca. 16.5:10.5 cm). In 1 slip-in album with clasp and loose, album scuffed, front inner joint torn, tuck-in flaps with traces of use. Interesting collection, containing mainly individual portraits of private individuals and shots of bourgeois families, soldiers, scholars, but also a few group shots, produced by photographers throughout Germany, many also from other European countries. Furthermore, some photographs of actors, dancers or celebrities, occasionally with inscriptions. Dedication, as well as some private photographs. In addition a series of 10 Woodburytypes from "Galerie Contemporain" around 1860-90, including portraits of G. Droz, E. Legouvé, P. Ricord, J. Simon and others, as well as a small collection of 53 cigarette pictures of the brand Mélia Frères, Algiers, around 1920. Photogr. 5:6.5 cm, mostly somewhat colored and with partly erotic shots of women. - Sporadically stained, rubbed or slight signs of age and wear. - In addition: A few inserts, including 1 small framed portrait.
