Loosely bound in an Olwd. portfolio (this somewhat damaged). First edition, very rare. - Alexander Hauger (1866 - 1934) worked as a naval commissary and was a keen amateur photographer. Alexander Hauger left a number of photographs of life on the warships to the naval photographer Alois Beer for marketing" (Thomas Zimmel - Marinebibliographie). - With 10 excellently printed heliogravures in copper intaglio by Richard Paulussen after the photographs by Alexander Hauger. - Partly heavily foxed.
