To the art historian Hans Wolfgang Singer in Leipzig: "...for the time being I am glad that I will probably get a dispensation from the oral examination, but I still have to write a second, smaller essay on it. I marvel at the heroic deeds of your colleagues with admiration... I now also know a Janssens picture with 2 faces and 1 person seen from the back, the details: Incidence of light from the left, window crosses... everything exactly as in Brockhaus...expect more detailed information about the light reflections from Petersburg, where the picture is in the Leuchtenberg Collection..." - Enclosed 1 postcard, probably from one of Singer's children to her mother, dat.
