Consignment bill for "zwey einpalirde Küsten No. 2. und 3., addressed to the Governing...Duke (August) of Gotha and Altenburg to Gotha, by the carter Gottlob Winkler (from Dresden). The previous year Grassi had painted at the court of Duke August of Saxe-Gotha, including a bedroom decoration with motifs from the fairy tale "Polyneon" written by the Duke. D

Artist information: Slovenian-Austrian naval officer and painter (1833 Schloss Purgstall, Styria to 1905 Ragusa), pupil of Selleny and Durand-Brager, travelled with Emperor Josef I to Dalmatia in 1875 and was awarded the title Kammermarinemaler, accompanied Crown Prince Rudolf on his travels for a long time, parts of his estate can be found in the Joanneum in Graz and in the Albertina in Vienna, sources: Thieme-Becker and Wikipedia.
