To the lawyer Fritz Böckel in Jena: "Dear Doctor and old Reichstag colleague...Yes, Bernoulli's defence lawyer had the courage to claim that my letters about the Bernoulli work produced in court were work ordered by Dr. Förster-Nietzsche. The man - I can't remember his name at the moment - has no basis for this slanderous allegation. Never in my life have I done work ordered in this sense... - Böckel represented Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche and the Nietzsche Archive in Weimar as a lawyer from 1907-1912. In 1908, the Swiss writer Carl Albrecht Bernoulli published the two-volume work Friedrich Nietzsche und Franz Overbeck. A Friendship. In the second volume, a number of passages first had to be blacked out and then completely deleted due to a lawsuit brought by Heinrich Köselitz. D
