Cohen, Walter, Art historian and writer (1880-1942). Own. Postcard with signature, dat. Vienna, 15.9.(19)27. qu.cl.8°. 1 sheet, 1/2 p. inscr. On a picture postcard to the art historian a. museum director Hans Friedrich Secker in Cologne: "Today I am in Vienna for a week and have a lot of it. Of the private collections, Mr. v. Auspitz's is particularly outstanding. Yesterday I found a delightful Zick with a false Mengs signature presented as Mengs by Count Harrach...". - Cohen helped prepare the Sonderbund exhibition of 1912, founded the Young Rhineland with Otto Dix and Max Ernst and was curator at the Düsseldorf Municipal Art Collection from 1914-1933. He was murdered in the Dachau concentration camp in 1942. D
