With lithographed portraits, 2 folded engraved plans and 18 (1 folded, 6 in contemporary coloring) lithographed plates by Marlet. 4, LXXII, 364; (4), 360, (1) pp. Half leather bindings (text volumes), gilt inscription of the Cercle du Commerce vertically on the front boards, richly gilt spines with red and black title labels. Atlas with opbd (somewhat browned, stained and soiled, small tears to spine). Abbey, Travel 667. not in Lipperheide and Colas. - First French edition of Bullock's "Six Month's Residence and Travels in Mexico", 1824. "The first English traveler in Mexico since Father Gage in 1640" (Sabin). Complete with atlas, the plates with views (10, including Mexico City, Vera Cruz, Xalapa and Puebla de los Angelos). - Text somewhat browned and stained, occasional small marginal tears, half-title and several pages with stamp of the reading club. Plates slightly foxed, costume plates slightly browned, first plan with some creases on the left side and small marginal tear on the right margin, abrasion on the right side of the view of Xalapa. With several stains, 1 sheet with corner loss.
