Slightly browned, partly with stronger foxing.

Savoy Carlo Felice (1821-1831) 80 Lire 1831 T - Nomisma 534 AU RRR Run of just 740 examples, one of the rarest of the decimal period. Of the fourteen date and mint combinations in the 80 lire of Carlo Felice, the last thousandth, 1831, is by far the rarest. In fact, only 740 examples were struck when usually the print runs were well above 5,000 pieces (even of the 1826 T turn out to be struck 75,957 examples!). Probably the very limited print run was due to the fact that the king died on April 27 and up to that date mostly marenghi and 40 lire were struck. The date 1831 then appears to be struck only in the Turin mint. With this thousandth in fact there were no issues in that of Genoa. Therefore this coin turns out to be one of the key pieces of 19th-century Italy. - SPL+/SPL
