Um den Preis der Bibel zu senken, hatte die Cansteiner Bibelgesellschaft immer kleinere Schrifttypen schneiden lassen, um die Bibeln kleiner und damit vor allem preiswerter zu machen. Menschen mit Sehschwäche hatten darunter allerdings zu leiden. Mit der Zunkel Bibel wurde der umgekehrte Weg beschritten: die Schrift ist besonders groß gehalten.
