The 16th and final volume contains Pierre Barbéris's remarkable work: "Aux Sources de Balzac. Les romans de jeunesse", with a preface by Jean-A. Ducourneau. With an autograph letter from Pierre Barbéris to Madame A.-M. Meininger. The binding is identical to that of the "OEuvres complètes illustrées" from the same publisher, reproducing a personal copy by Balzac. Bound in half red basane, spines decorated with gilt fillets and fleurons, top edges gilt (one volume with damaged headband, some spotting on some spines).
