De Gonorrhoea. A medical treatise on gonorrhea, symptoms, onset and course of the disease, its various manifestations and methods of treatment. Quoting the encyclopedic works of Jacob Horst (cf. Jöcher II, 1717), this excerpt is intended as information and instructions for a practicing physician for venereal diseases: D. Jacob Horstii. lib 10. von geheimnusen der Naturen Lemnii, pag. 838. It is such an abominable disease that both men and women are attacked when they are deprived of semen against their will, that among the children of Israel they had to be separated from the community (Levit. cap. 15), it is said ... the white flow of semen ... escapes people in their sleep, even almost without any desire, against their will ...
