With 58 copper plates. 2 pp. 19th century cloth (somewhat rubbed and worn, binding bands missing). Thieme/B. XXXIII, 110 - The French title with the imprint variant. Printed title with the imprint variant as in Hollstein VI, but without date (only "1640" added by old hand in ink), plate I without a publisher's address (Hollstein 39, IV [of IV]). - Later impression of the series first published in 1632: "After the lost frescoes by Primaticcio and Niccolo dell'Abate in Fontainebleau" (Hollstein III, 37). - The Flemish engraver Theodor van Thulden (1606-69) was a pupil of Rubens and became a freemaster of the Guild of St. Luke in 1626. - All sheets trimmed (advertissement) with loss of the typographic border; the plates mostly with a small margin of about half a centimeter first mounted on backing sheets and these then on large-format boards. Slightly browned and somewhat foxed in places. - With 58 copper plates. Cloth of the 19th century (somewhat rubbed and bumped, ties missing). All sheets trimmed, plates mounted, in places slightly browned and with somewhat foxing.
