Full jansenist black morocco, 5-rib spine, fillet on edges, inner lace, red edges. Excellent condition. Minor spotting in the text. A frontispiece by Van Orley, engraved by Berterham, and 232 mid-page burin vignettes. This early 18th century illustration is of the highest quality. The vignettes in Volume 1 of the History of the Jews were colorized at a later date. A rare and complete set, of very high printing quality.

Publisher's full illustrated percaline. Very fresh copy, covers and text. 12 color hors-texts by Hansi, and numerous illustrations in the text, celebrating the return of Alsace to France. A leather mosaic book cover is included, with a motif of three Alsatian faces in headdresses, and a stork's nest, made especially for the book. Book cover with flaps, spun silk interior with floral motifs, and tricolor ribbon bookmark. Both the lower edge of the 1st board and the upper edge of the 2nd board are worn and slightly cut. Possible to restore, for an undoubtedly unique work. A precious set.
