Mit sehr aufwendigen, hochkomplexen chemisch-physikalischen Versuchsreihen gelang der Nachweis zahlreiche Elemente und Isotope mit teils sehr kurzen Halbwertszeiten als Spaltprodukte der Kernspaltung zu identifizieren. Hier vorliegend die erste Veröffentlichung der ausführlichen Beschreibung der Versuchsreihen. "Bisher sind die Vertreter von 23 Elementen aufgefunden worden. Durch ihr gleichzeitiges Auftreten in mehreren Isotopen beträgt die Zahl der nachgewiesenen Atomarten heute mehr als 80." (S. 3) - Otto Hahn wurde bereits 1944 durch die Kgl. Schwedische Akademie mit dem Nobelpreis für Chemie für seine Entdeckung der Spaltung schwerer Atomkerne nominiert. Here is the first publication of the detailed description of the series of experiments. - Otto Hahn was already nominated for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry by the Royal Swedish Academy in 1944 for his discovery of the fission of heavy atomic nuclei.
