Dünnhaupt 54.1 (only Frankfurt reprint after 1619). - "The notorious incendiary pamphlet 'Classicum belli sacri' and the 'Concilium Regium' (for Philip III of Spain) caused a tremendous uproar in Germany, especially among the Protestants; a veritable flood of counter-pamphlets followed" (ADB XXXIII, 482). In it, Schoppe, as a convert, calls on the Catholic princes to wage war against the Protestants. - Part II contains the genealogy of the House of Habsburg. - Title with backed margin cut-out at top, pasted shaving and dusty on verso, last leaf with small paper damage and dusty outside, slightly browned, some spotting. - Title monogrammed "C I A L", from the library of Christoph Ingram a Liebenrain.
