First edition of Paulinus's most important work, in which he summarized his catechetical studies. The work is considered the most important of its kind in the 17th century. Paulinus (1565-1646) had studied in Rostock. After obtaining a master's degree, Paulinus returned to Uppsala, where the synod had just established the fundamental Lutheran dogmas. Paulinus became professor of logic at the now Lutheran-oriented University of Uppsala, and in 1598 he moved to the catheder for astronomy. Ownership inscription on the title page. Title torn and creased at fold and with wormhole.
