Nuremberg, Weigel, 1729-1765, Lipsius-L. 213 Kirchner 949 - Almost complete series of the weekly Münz-Belustigungen, one of the most important numismatic publications of the time. - With the two index volumes edited by J. G. Bernhold. - Köhler was professor in Altdorf and Göttingen. His "merits as a historian lie for the most part in the field of historical auxiliary sciences, primarily chronology and numismatics. His 'Historische Münzbelustigungen'... is a fundamental work and will protect the memory of his name from oblivion for a long time to come" (ADB XVI, 443). - Vol. XV present in duplicate. Overall very well preserved, the divergent bindings somewhat stained and dusty.
