Buhl, Anton. Chronicle of the Anselm family in Stuttgart. German manuscript on paper by Lothar Kreitz in calligraphy in the style of medieval chronicles, ca. 1920/30s. Gr.4°. With numerous drawings (9 full-page) and book decoration in ink, sepia, partly pencil and watercolor. Pencil and watercolor or gouache. Writing in black and partly in red. Red and occasional gold. Gold. Writing approx. 22 x 16 cm. 272 hs. num. Beige marocco with fillet embossing and gilt embossed rtit. "Anselm'sche Chronik". (Somewhat rubbed and dusty). The illustrations with heraldic motifs, family trees, portraits and views of Stuttgart (2), Rottenburg a. Neckar, Wurmlingen etc. among others. - The nos. 178-195 and 221-272 are empty. - Outlines at the beginning the appearance of the name Anselm as first and last name (also Anshelm) predominantly in nobility and church, beginning in more detail with Valerius Anshelm of Rottweil and the printer Thomas Anshelm from Baden-Baden etc. - The author of the chronicle is probably Franz Anton Buhl (1858-1961), senior teacher and local historian in Rottenburg am Neckar, who was made an honorary citizen in 1958. Two drawings are monogrammed "WM", one drawing is signed Helmut Mebert. - Enclosed several sheets of correspondence on the origin of the book and 1 portrait photo. R
