Together with Wolfgang Kilian (1581 - 1683), the three (half) brothers worked cooperatively in their workshops. They all learned from their father Domenicus Custos (1560 - 1612). The engravings by Raphael Custos unmistakably show the style of Lucas Kilian, who was one of the masters of so-called ornamental engraving and became particularly famous for his use of Mauresque and cartouche ornamental forms. - From the 12-part series "Emblemata Sacra Passionis Salvatoris nostri Jesu Christi". 6 copper engravings with biblical motifs.
