René QUILLIVIC (Plouhinec, 1879 - Paris, 1969) Bigoudène mask, 1909. Rare stoneware model with flamed bluish glaze. Dated "1909" in ink on the inside. Height: 24 cm. Width: 14.5 cm. Depth: 7 cm (The cap is broken and glued back on). Provenance: collection of Edouard Plouzané (1859-1920), MP for Finistère from 1910 to 1914, by descent. Bibliography : Collectif, "René Quillivic céramiste", ed. AAMFQ, 1997. Our sculpture can be compared with the bust of an orphan from also made in 1909.
