CARDEILHAC. silver tea service, FOUR PIECES, with low sides decorated with melon ribs. It consists of a FOUNTAIN for hot water, a TEAPOT, a SUCRIER and a POT-A-LAIT. Each element is engraved with a coat of arms stamped with the crown of a prince of the Holy Roman Empire, inscribed within a double-headed eagle. The openwork fountain support features four fluted console feet terminating in scrolls. Black wood handles, tap and feet. Goldsmith: Maison Jacques et Pierre Cardeilhac, 1920-1945. Total height of the fountain on its base: 42 cm. Total gross weight: 3,816 g. According to Mr. Jean-Jacques Lartigue, whom we warmly thank, these arms could be those of Marquis Aleksandr Aleksandrovitch Andrault de Langeron (1893-1947).
