We thank the artist for kindly confirming the authenticity of this work. HISTORY : Conceptual chair designed as part of a project to fit out a studio at the Bauhaus Foundation in Dessau. The idea was to design furniture from materials found in Eastern Germany after the fall of the Wall. The designer took these heavy pieces of black rubber, originally used in construction, and combined them with two pieces of solid wood, which were sanded and varnished. A set of 12 chairs and a table were then made for a gallery.
