~ RENÉ LALIQUE (1860-1945) "Caravelle" Important and spectacular luminous tableware, comprising a thick slab of white satin-finish glass, in a half-moon shape, with an intaglio-molded decoration of a large three-masted ship with unfurled sails, set in a Rio rosewood base. Signed "René Lalique" in the decoration. Created in 1930, not made again after 1947. (Minor chips and scratches). Height 52 cm - Length 75 cm - Width 17 cm A 'Caravelle' table centerpiece in satin-finish white glass and brazilian rosewood. Signed (Small chips and scratches). 20 1/2 x 29 1/2 x 6 3 /4 in.
