BERNHARD HOETGER (1874-1949) Solid stained walnut chair, with triangular straw-covered backrest, topped by a wide curved shelf, supported by a transverse upright extending into a front leg, arched side uprights forming low armrests and rear legs. Height 72.5 cm - Length 59 cm - Depth 65 cm A chair in solid tinted walnut and straw. 28 1/2 x 23 1/4 x 25 5/8 in. HISTORY : This chair was designed by Bernhard Hoetger for the Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum in Bremen in 1927. This was the first museum in the world devoted exclusively to the work of a woman painter.
