ANDRÉ ALETH MASSON (1919-2009) Important maternity sculpture, in scraped and striated clay, beige-rose enameled, symbolizing a young woman seated on a chair, with a very elongated quadrangular body, her head surmounted by a truncated cone-shaped headdress with six elements linked by metal rods. She is holding a child on her lap, crowned with an identical headdress. Incised handwritten signature "A. Masson" on the base. Circa 1965 (One of the child's arms is broken and missing) Height 77 cm - Width 11 cm - Depth 15 cm A large sculpture in enamelled scraped and striated clay and metal rods. Signed (One of the child's arms broken and missing). 30 1/4 x 4 3/8 x 5 7/8 in.
