C(ésar) F(amin) Paris: Abel Ledoux, 1836. - In-4, dark blue half-chagrin, spine ribbed and decorated with cold filets (period binding). First edition of this interesting work listing and describing the antique erotic objects in the Royal Museum of Naples, found mainly during excavations at Pompeii and Herculaneum. It is illustrated with an engraved title and 60 plates depicting the objects described and studied by diplomat and collector César Famin (1799-1853). (rubbing to spine. Scattered foxing. Substantial tear with loss at bottom of leaf on pages 159-160, without damage to text).
