Bouddha Sakyamuni Grand Bouddha de Style Mandalay laqué doré à la feuille assis en position du lotus (Padmasana). Posture d'appel à la terre (Bhumisparsa mudra), soit le geste de la prise de la Terre à témoin. Les doigts de la main droite effleurent le sol, tandis que la main gauche est posée en son giron, paume tournée vers le ciel. Les jambes sont croisées, les plantes des pieds tournées vers le haut. Cette représentation du Bouddha évoque la victoire de Sakyamuni sur le démon Mara et représente le moment le plus important du bouddhisme, celui de l'Éveil. A LARGE LACQUERED WOOD FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI A LARGE LACQUERED WOOD FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI Burma, 19 th century. Buddha is depicted seated in dhyanasana on a high tiered pedestal with foliate designs and bands of petals, holding his right hand in bhumisparsha mudra and the left resting in his lap. Wearing a close-fitting sanghati with elaborate jewelry, his face is set with a serene expression, downcast eyes, full lips, pendulous earlobes, and a tall crown. The ketumala separately carved. Each side of the pedestal set with a loose ring. Condition: Good condition with wear, natural flaws, age cracks, remnants of gilt lacquer, nicks, chips, and expected losses.
