With the artist's blindstamp lower right, titled, dated, numbered and inscribed "SILVER GELATINE PRINT MADE IN OCTOBER 94 BY MARIO DE STEFANIS" and his signature verso. Mounted under passepartout in places. - Lower two corners slightly creased. Occasional barely noticeable, light stains. Paper somewhat wavy due to technique. Overall very good. Splendid, high-contrast and nuanced print. One of only 15 prints. - Italian architectural photographer, who is primarily known for his portfolio focusing on cityscapes and urban spaces. Basilico developed a passion for architecture while studying architecture in Milan. From the 1970s onwards, he began to capture Milan's urban peripheries, which are primarily characterized by industry, in atmospheric photographs, initially out of interest and for private reasons. He gradually devoted himself exclusively to photography. He worked in France and Lebanon, among other places. Industrial ports are a recurring motif. Basilico was awarded the Premio Osella d'Oro at the VI Architecture Biennale in 1996 and had a solo exhibition there in 2007. His visual language oscillates between objectivity and poetry; his industrial and urban images always carry great meaning and statement, in rich, high-contrast black and white shots.
