Two oil on panel. 44 x 34 cm, each, unframed. This set of four small panels belongs, quite possibly, to the Madrid school of the second half of the seventeenth century. The unquestionable quality, the movement, the delicacy, the subtlety and precision of the stroke, as well as the scenography, the coloring and the dynamism, especially in "The Annunciation", invite us to think of a first-rate artist of the Madrid Baroque. From Francisco de Rizi to Herrera el Mozo, we dare not rule out any of them. The difficulty of comparing with other small format panels further complicates their study. However, there is no doubt of the interest that their contemplation arouses.
