NARCISO INGLADA (1830-1891)Retrato de caballeroh. 1860

Pencil on paper. 15,5 x 12 cm. With original gilt frame, XIX century. Signed and dedicated in the lower right corner: "To his friend of N. Ynglada". Narciso Inglada was a Spanish painter and draftsman of the 19th century. A native of Villanueva y Geltrú, he settled in Barcelona. He presented excellent pencil drawings, including several portraits at the San Fernando Academy Exhibitions of 1850 and 1851. In the exhibition held in Barcelona in 1858, he presented a painting representing the Blessed Oriol, in which, according to the opinion of a critic, Inglada demonstrated the delicacy of his execution. In the one of 1866, he exhibited thirteen paintings in pencil, twelve of them landscapes and one a portrait. He was the author of the canvas of San Bernardo that is in the temple of Montserrat, as well as of numerous portraits, studies and representations of women.
