Half taffeta binding with red corners, spine with seven decorated bands and marbled covered boards. First edition of the well-known work published by the publisher Alberto Hauser, Paris, in three volumes published successively in 1842, 1844 and 1850. With the usual romantic air in similar European works, Pérez Villaamil presents the monumental richness of Spain, adding to the urban landscapes the costumbrist touches of the wide variety of Spanish types of the 19th century. Twenty-three French lithographers and one Spanish lithographer worked on the print; despite this variety of hands and the interpretative licenses with respect to the originals, the whole was fully uniform thanks to the good direction of Pérez Villaamil.
