Friedrich Wilhelm von Schadow (German, 1788-1862) An old man and a young girl pen and ink and watercolour 14 x 10.5cm, unframed Provenance: The collection of Johann Jorg von Saxony (Lugt 4485); Helmut Tenner, Heidelberg, 1961. Exhibited: Art Museum of the City of Düsseldorf, 'Wilhelm von Schadow', Düsseldorf, July-August 1962, catalogue no.141. Condition Report: Mount: 36 x 28cm The work has been stuck down to strips of paper around the edges. Two small rips to the left edge. A 5mm tear to the upper left corner. The colours appear a little muted consistent with age.

A large porcelain figure "Friedrich II with his Wind Chimes" (Old Fritz), Johann Gottfried Schadow (design), Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanmanufaktur, 20th century Porcelain, glazed. On a round base. The front with the monogram of Frederick II, the base engraved "after Schadow", the reverse with a blue manufacturer's mark. Crutch cane broken off and replaced by a wooden cane. The ears and hindquarters of the dogs restored, the boots heavily restored, one leg chipped, dimensions 75 x 34 x 29 cm. Condition: III - IV Keywords: Frederick of Prussia
