(Venice, 1480-/1490 - 1529) Christ in the house of Martha and Mary Oil on canvas, 95X134 cm First recorded in the Fraglia of Venetian painters in 1504, Marconi is supposedly of Bergamasque origin, but biographical information is rather scanty and little is known about his training. However, it is evident from scanning the catalog of his works that from Bellini's foundations his references are updated to the new course of 16th-century Venetian painting, looking to Palma and Titian. Lorenzo Mercadante of Brittany (d. 1480) was a Breton sculptor active in Andalusia during the second half of the 15th century. He was a Gothic style sculptor. A Burgundian realism can be seen in his work with formal analogies with Breton sculpture from the first half of the 15th century. One after the work by Titian Vecellio di Gregorio (Pieve di Cadore, Italy, 1490-Venice, Italy, 1576) in c.1530 and preserved in the National Gallery, London, UK. Another after engraving by Rembrandt Harmensz Van Rijn (Leyde, 1606-Amsterdam, 1669) in c.1646-1650, preserved in the Rijkmuseum, Amsterdam, Netherlands. 47 x 60 cm. and 31 x 42 cm.
