Amygdaloides carnelian seal. Middle Minoan, ca. 1900 - 1600 B.C. L 1.86cm, W 1.55cm. Made of red carnelian with gray inclusions. Amygdaloid with longitudinal drilling. "Talismanic motif", probably depicting the head of a papyrus stem. Published. Published: I. Pini (ed.), Corpus der Minoischen und Mykenischen Siegel (CMS) vol. X (1980) no. 230. Missing fragment on the reverse, front side damaged at the edge. Provenance: Ex collection J.K.-E., Hesse, acquired 1984 in Frankfurt/Main.
