Description

1968 CITROËN DS 21 Cabriolet (R)

French registration title ERRATUM: soft top out of order; a new soft top will be supplied and installed at the seller's expense The DS cabriolet presented here is a rebuild of a DS Chapron Le Caddy, based on a saloon put on the road in March 1968 (saloon registration title, unmodified); the car is fitted with power steering and is in very good mechanical (recently rebuilt engine) and cosmetic condition This is one of 6 replicas built in the mid- 1980s by Guy Deslandes, an engineer who had his moment of glory transforming Cx Cabriolet cars, named Orphée (5 examples), and who also designed an XM Cabriolet and a “4-season” Cabriolet kit for the 2 CV... This replica of the Cabriolet was inspired by the first versions of the Caddy, dated autumn 1959, which had the distinctive feature of having a single-piece rear wing, combined with the non-extended door of the saloon According to Mr Deslandes, this car, with its elegant burgundy paintwork and brown leather interior, was fitted with a genuine Chapron rear bench seat; a certificate in his hand, attached to the file, confirms that he was indeed the person who carried out this transformation We invite you to take the wheel of a superb DS cabriolet bodied by a true genius of an engineer, renowned for his creations in keeping with the quality standards of the brand with the chevrons
