Note: The present composition is evidently inspired by Rubens' (1577-1640) 'Descent from the Cross', painted between 1612 and 1614 as the central panel of the artist's triptych in the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp.

Fine proof on white vellum, dedicated, signed and annotated "Paris 1972" in gray felt-tip pen. Normal median vertical folds (demarcation of the triptych). A few fine broken folds and cracks in the subject. Margins. Framed.
