SUBANDRIO: (1914-2004) Indonesian politician who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs 1957-66 and as Deputy Prime Minister 1962-66. Sentenced to death for his involvement in the ´30 September Movement´, Subandrio´s sentence was reduced to life imprisonment upon the request of the British government on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II. Signed New Years greetings card, the plain small oblong 8vo folding card featuring the gold printed national emblem of Indonesia to the cover and printed text in both English and Indonesian to the inside. Signed by Subandrio with his name alone in blue fountain pen ink beneath the English text. VG
