ANDROPOV YURI: (1914-1984) Soviet politician who served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union 1982-84. Book signed and inscribed, being a hardback edition of Selected Speeches and Articles, Russian text edition published in Moscow, 1979. Signed and dated by Andropov to the front free endpaper in blue ink and with a presentation inscription to Nikolai Emokhonov. With a dark green binding and gilt stamped title to the front and spine. VG Nikolai Emokhonov (1921-2014) Russian Army General and a prminent figure in the state security agencies of the USSR, a laureate of the Lenin and State prizes.
