NAPOLEON I: (1769-1821) Emperor of France 1804-14, 1815. A good and curious L.S., ` Napol´, one page, folio, Imperial Palace of the Tuileries, Paris, 18th February 1808, in Italian. Signed at the bottom of the document in bold black ink by Napoleon, in his capacity as King of Italy, a good signature example. The cleanly written document being an expenses report issued by the Secretary of State of the kingdom of Italy, and related to personalities expenses following His Imperial Majesty travel from Fontainebleau to Italy and travel back. The report lists with full detail each one of the expenses incurred, including ` Expenses for the transport of the Minister Secretary of State, and maintenance expenses for him and his family at Fontainebleau. 8.000 Lires. - Travel to Milan. 4.600 Lires. - Repairs of the cars at Varennes and at Lyon. 350 Lires. - Travel from Milan to Venice. 1.800 Lires. - Expenses in Venice. 1.500 Lires. - Return trip from Venice to Milan. 1.600 Lires. - Expenses in Milan. 1.600 Lires. - Change of unusable car by new one in Milan. 1.900 Lires. - Return to Paris. 5.300 Lires. - Repairs of cars. 300 Lires..´ With blank integral leaf. Small ink stain to the signature. The document bears a good "I. Hessels" watermark. Folded. VG
