LINDBERGH CHARLES: (1902-1974) American aviator who made the first solo non-stop flight across the Atlantic from Paris to New York in the Spirit of St. Louis, May 1927. A good, bold dark fountain pen ink signature ( 'Charles A. Lindbergh') and date, 10th September 1941, in his hand on an attractive printed air mail cover featuring red, white and blue stripes and with the printed words Via Air Mail, Par Avion, Correo Aereo! at the head. Matted in off-white with red borders above a 7.5 x 5 reproduction photograph of Lindbergh seated in a full-length pose alongside the Spirit of St. Louis and framed and glazed in a red wooden frame to an overall size of 12 x 13.5. Designed for the Charles A. Lindbergh, American aviator and engineer who in 1927 became the first pilot to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
