Signed First Day Cover issued as part of the Progress in Electronics series and commemorating 25 years of transistors, featuring images of Shockley and his colleagues Walter Brattain and John Bardeen. Post marked at New York, 10th July 1973. Signed by Shockley in blue ink to a clear area and with a schematic diagram of a transistor, with negative and positive charges, added above his signature.
