MOISSAN HENRI: (1852-1907) French Chemist. Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1906 for his work in isolating fluorine. Moissan was one of the original members of the International Atomic Weights Committee. A very fine A.L.S., ` Henri Moissan´, two pages, 8vo, Zurich, 29th August 1897, to Monsieur Lebeau, in French. On the attractive printed stationery of the Grand Hotel Bellevue au lac, Zurich, Moissan asks his correspondent about laboratory tests and results, stating ` Je n´ai reçu aucune nouvelle des expériences sur AzH3. Est-il possible que HI ou HCl ne veuille pas donner de nouveaux résultats? Avez-vous obtenu du nouveau avec AyFl ou AgI sur AzH3? Ou bien tout simplement avez-vous pris le train et abandonné le laboratoire...´ (Translation: " I have not received any news of the experiments on AzH3. Is it possible that HI or HCl does not want to give new results? Did you get anything new with AyFl or AgI on AzH3? Or did you simply take the train and abandon the laboratory?...")
