CAMUS ALBERT: (1913-1960)

CAMUS ALBERT: (1913-1960) French philosopher, author and dramatist, Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1957. A brief, charming A.L.S., Albert Camus, one page, 8vo, Paris, 25th October 1957, to Armand Lanoux, in French. Camus writes in the wake of being announced as the Nobel Prize winner for Literature and states, in full, 'Je veux vous remercier, aussi simplement que je le peux, de tous vos mots gentils et chaleureux - et vous serrer la main, de tout coeur' (Translation: 'I want to thank you, as simply as I can, for all your kind and warm words - and shake your hand, from the bottom of my heart'). A letter of good association. VG Armand Lanoux (1913-1983) French writer.
