AUSTER PAUL: (1947-2024) American writer. A.Q.S., Paul Auster, to one side of a plain postcard, n.p. (Brooklyn, New York), n.d. (8th February 1993). Auster has penned the final lines from his poem Effigies (1976), ´Alba. The immense, alluvial light. The carillon/ of clouds at dawn. And the boats/ moored in the jetty fog/ are invisible. And if they are there/ they are invisible´. Signed at the conclusion. Accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed by Auster. VG
