ZOLA EMILE: (1840-1902) French novelist. The personal printed oblong 12mo Visiting Card of Zola, unsigned, featuring his printed name to the centre and address at Rue Ballu (Paris; the novelist´s residence from 1877-89) at the base, with two lines of text in his hand, in French, ´avec mes bien vifs remerciements´ (Translation: ´with my sincere thanks´). Together with an autograph envelope, unsigned, addressed in Zola´s hand to Monsieur St Georges de Bouhelier at Rue La Condamine, Paris, and post marked at Paris, 20th July 1901. The Visiting Card with a small, dark stain at the base and the envelope with some tears and age wear as to be expected. G, 2 Saint-Georges de Bouhelier (1876-1947) French poet and dramatist, the son of Edmond Lepelletier.
