HERGE: (1907-1983) Georges Prosper Remi. Belgian cartoonist, best known as the creator of The Adventures of Tintin. An attractive colour printed folio calendar created by Herge for 1983, the concertina folding calendar featuring individual panels for the months of the year, each featuring images of various characters including Tintin and his white Wire Fox Terrier dog Snowy, Captain Haddock and Professor Calculus, all depicted in scenes relevant to the month or season. Signed ( ´Herge´) by the cartoonist to the base alongside the printed words, in French, ´Avec les meilleurs souhaits de´ (Translation: ´With best wishes from´). One small punch hole to the upper edge as issued for the purposes of hanging the calendar. VG
