MUNNINGS ALFRED: (1878-1959) English painter, a member of the Newlyn School from 1912-14, and regarded as one of the finest painters of horses. A brief A.L.S., A J Munnings, one page, 8vo, Chelsea Gardens, Chelsea, London, 24th August 1929, to a gentleman (evidently an autograph collector). Munnings writes, in full, ´Here is my signature. What a strange thing to do & collect autographs!!!!!!!´. Together with an original vintage unsigned 6.5 x 8.5 photograph of Munnings standing in a half-length pose as he talks into a BBC microphone. Some very light, minimal age wear, and a few minor traces of former mounting to the verso of the letter. G to VG, 2
