Daumier´, one page, 4to, Paris, 12th September 1861, to Theodore Rousseau, in French. Daumier expects that his correspondent will invite him and his family for a few days, and states ` Mon cher Rousseau, Pouvons-nous aller passer quelques jours avec vous? Si cela est possible ne nous répondez pas; nous partirons samedi soir ou dimanche. Dans le cas ou cela vous gênerait ayez la bonté de nous le dire. Une poignée de main en attendant le plaisir de vous voir´ (Translation: " My dear Rousseau, Can we go and spend a few days with you? If possible, do not answer us; we will leave Saturday evening or Sunday. If this bothers you, please tell us. A handshake while waiting for the pleasure of seeing you") With address leaf, addressed in Daunier´s hand, ` Monsieur Theodore Rousseau, artiste peintre, a Barbyzon, pres Fontainebeau´, stamped and with few postmarks.
