Maurice Lefebvre-Lourdet, poster for "Marigny-Revue" Exuberantly celebrating and dancing company, in the upper area lettering "Marigny-Revue" and in the lower area "Tous les soirs Marigny-Revue", colour lithograph, around 1900, signed "Lourdet" lower left in the stone, a reference to the poster designs of Henry de Toulouse-Lautrec cannot be denied, fold lines, browned, stained, additions in the corners, matted and framed behind glass, mat cut-out approx. 58 x 85 cm. Artist information: actually Maurice Albert Joseph Simon Lefebvre, signed Lourdey, franz. Painter, illustrator and poster designer (1860 Paris to 1934 Paris), from 1885 member of the Society of French Artists, 1885-92 participation in the exhibitions of the Artistes Français in Paris, 1911 participation in the Exhibition of Industry and Labour in Turin, also active for numerous illustrated magazines, source: Wikipedia.

Publisher's red boards with gilt decoration and title. Also included: Galerie des tableaux sur le Pont de la Chapelle à Lucerne. 1889. In-8 oblong Italian style (15.5 x 24.5 cm) with 6 ff. (title - index of reproduced paintings) and 76 hors-texte plates mounted on tabs, publisher's green percaline boards, spine and upper cover titled in gilt, red edges, original endpapers. Inside spine weakened.

Provenance: - According to the adhesive label: Edmond (Edi) Remondino, Burundi and Zurich (1996). - Gérald Minkoff (1937-2009) and Muriel Olesen (1948-2020), Geneva. ----------------------------------------------------- Gérald Minkoff and Muriel Olesen Muriel Minkoff-Olesen (1948- 2020) completed her training at the School of Design in Geneva. Gérald Minkoff (1937-2009) was a trained anthropologist and biologist. Both achieved fame as artists and from their meeting in 1967, the emblematic couple of contemporary art were inseparable. The travel-loving Olesen-Minkoff duo explored life like curious nomads, roaming the globe from Africa to Asia, Oceania, America and Patagonia. As artists and experienced collectors of contemporary art, they understandably had a keen sensitivity to the aesthetics and concepts of non-European art. The couple's Geneva apartment, perhaps their most beautiful joint work, thus became a place where the works of close friends such as Daniel Spoerri, Arman and Man Ray, as well as their own photographs, lived together with almost a thousand objects from Africa, Oceania, Asia and South America.
